TAPIDroid CTI for smartphones: Installation and Setup
TAPIDroid runs on your smartphone and PC. Read here how to set up and connect the two components:
Setup on the Android smartphone
Download the app „TAPIDroid“ from the Google Play app-store.
After the start the main screen appears (see image). Here the wireless, IP and Bluetooth settings can be changed if desired. The PIN which is used to authenticate the connection has been automatically assigned and can be changed by you.
Enter your phone number in the field „Phone number“. This is necessary as some Android versions do not let apps access telephone numbers. After that, the smartphone app is set up and you can close the application. This service runs in the background and only works when calls are active. Thus, the battery drain is kept low.
Setup in Windows
After downloading the latest version of TAPIDroid you can install the Windows component:
1.) Start the installation
Run the downloaded TAPIDroid-10000.exe, confirm – if required - that you want to run this file and choose your language. You will see this dialogue by clicking [next ]:

4.) Select components
In addition to the TAPIDroid Windows module the TAPILine Agent is installed. You will not get any toolbars or other software. We recommend the installation of both modules. Click [Next ].

6.) Product activation
You will receive a notification when the 30-day trial period expires. If TAPIDroid has already been installed on your PC (i.e. you have done a software update), you will be shown the expiration date. Click [Next ].
7.) End of setup
TAPIDroid is now successfully installed on your PC and can be configured. To do this, leave the check mark for „Connect Android phone now“, and click [Finish]. This opens the configuration dialogue discussed below.
If TAPIDroid is installed on your Android phone and Windows PC, the two systems can be connected.
1.) Link new Device
After the Windows installation a window opens where you can choose the type of connection if you have checked „Connect Android phone now“ in the setup. You can access this dialogue via the TAPIDroid tile and start All Programs TAPIDroid „TAPIDroid“.
Optionally, when connecting via cloud a „Connection test“ can be performed. When you click [Connection Test], a window opens in which you enter a phone number (for example, your landline connection). The smartphone will set up the call.
1.A) Connect new device: WLAN
Suitable for inbound and outbound calls. The smartphone must be in the same network as your PC and the app must be active. Click [Start Search]. After a short time, the device you can select should be shown. In certain network configurations adding the device manually and entering the IP address of the smartphone is required. Click the button [add manually] to see the dialogue described below.
TAPIDroid shows a list of all smartphones found in the network. Select yours and click [Finish]. Enter your PIN from the app (please confer the first image on this page of Setup for Android) and confirm with [OK].
1.B) Connect new device: Bluetooth
Suitable for inbound and outbound calls. The smartphone must be connected directly to the Windows system. Especially when you are traveling, this is the connection of your choice. Click [Start Search]. After a short time, the device you can select should be displayed. Click the button [add manually] to see the dialogue described below.
TAPIDroid shows all smartphones found in a list. Select your device and click [Finish]. Enter your PIN from the app (please confer the first image on this page of Setup on Android) and confirm with [OK].
1.C) Connect new device: Cloud
Suitable for outbound calls. Allows the use of TAPIDroid even if there is no WLAN or Bluetooth available. TAPIDroid transmits the number to be dialed to the smartphone using the „Google cloud“. Inbound calls are not managed in the cloud mode. It can therefore be seen as a fallback if other connections are not available.
For the „Cloud ID“ as well as your PIN to be entered, see the main screen on the app (see the first image of this page of Setup on Android). Enter the data into the fields and confirm them by clicking [Finish].
1.D) New device: Add manually
Advanced: For all alternatives, you can add the device manually if, for example, the firewall prevents direct access. Enter the relevant data and run a connection test.
2.) Save the settings
WIf you have added your smartphone, click [OK]. You will then be prompted to reboot the PC. This is necessary because the TAPI driver runs as a Windows service and is available only after you have restarted your CTI application.
3.) Select the TAPI driver in your CTI application
After rebooting the PC you can choose the driver in your CTI application (e.g. TAPICall).
